Lola May is an actress, singer, and writer of Yoruba, Eritrean, and Brazilian heritage. She starred as Dido in 'Dido’s Bar' and performed in productions at the National Theatre, Chichester Festival Theatre, and the Bush Theatre. Her screen work includes BAFTA-winning 'His House' and BBC’s 'Informer'. She has also been recognized for her exceptional merit in film acting. Her other Immersive Jazz credits include the role of Dido in Dido’s Bar, by Dash Arts. Her Stage credits include Three Sisters (National Theatre); Olivier Award-Nominated Children’s Show: The Smeds and The Smoos; SOLD:The Mary Prince Story – Two Hander with herself and a Bata Percussionist (KuumbaNia Arts); The Southbury Child (Chichester Festival Theatre/The Bridge Theatre); Protests, Hymns and Caskets (Belgrade Theatre/Shoot Festival); Here’s What She Said to Me (Utopia Theatre UK Tour); 1991 (Africa Utopia Festival/The Southbank Centre); Water Bread Salt (Tangle UK Tour); The Therapy Chronicles – One Woman Show (The Bread and Roses Theatre) and Black Attack (Bush Theatre).
