Juanita Euka is a London-based Congolese (DRC) singer and songwriter known for blending soul, Latin music, Afrobeat, hip hop, and jazz influences. Raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina, she’s the frontwoman of London Afrobeat Collective, contributing to their album Esengo, released last year with Canopy Records. Juanita has also collaborated with Animanz, releasing an album under Tru Thoughts Records, and spent a decade performing with Wara, an Afro-Cuban and Latin powerhouse band. For nearly a decade, she’s toured Europe, captivating audiences with her dynamic performances. Having opened for the legendary Elton John and had her music featured on his Rocket Hour show, Juanita has garnered significant attention within the music industry. She is also the niece of Congolese rumba legend Franco Luambo Makiadi. Following her appearance on BBC’s Killing Eve, Juanita released her debut solo album Mabanzo under Strut Records. She also portrayed Cuban salsa legend Celia Cruz in the immersive theatre show Rumble in the Jungle (with Rematch). Recently, she recorded an album with Colombian legend Fruko and Bonita House Band, set for release soon.
